m*lk FAQ’s

Will m*lk separate in the fridge?

It won’t fully separate because of the Sunflower Lecithin, but you will see some solids settle after a couple of days. Simply shake the bottle and use it like normal.

How long will it last once made?

It will last in the fridge for up to 7 days.

How best do I store my m*lk paste?

Unopened store your m*lk base in the pantry, your jar will have a Best Before date of 12 months. Once you open it, either store in the fridge or a cool dry place in your pantry. You m*lk base will last 12 months if stored correctly and if you always use a clean dry spoon.

Can I make less than 1L of m*lk?

Yes you sure can! Halve the recipe :)

How will I know if my m*lk has gone bad?

If it smells a bit funky, is slimy, tastes weird or has changed colour. You will know!

Can the m*lk be heated?

Yes! It froths great in a milk frother. Or gently warm on the stove. The trick is to warm it before adding it to a hot drink (tea or coffee). Sometimes a cold m*lk mixed into a hot liquid will make it split.

Do I need a blender to make m*lk?

You could use a protein shaker, but we suggest a blender for real good emulsification (mixing a fat and water/liquid). If you are traveling - why not get one of those cool battery powered blenders?

Can I use more than the recommended amount of m*lk paste?

We suggest using 2 tablespoons of m*lk paste in 1L of water. But totally! You can always add more to your liking, it will make it creamier - however the jar won’t make 12L as suggested if you are using more paste.

What is Sunflower Lecithin? Isn’t it bad?

Don’t be confused with Soy Lecithin!

Our Sunflower Lecithin is a liquid made by using the gum of dehydrated organic sunflower seeds which is then cold-pressed like olive oil, so it can be extracted without the use of chemicals like hexane.

Sunflower lecithin is an allergen-free alternative to egg and soy lecithin. It is naturally rich in phosphatidylcholine and essential fatty acids, and is a natural fat emulsifier.

Why do we have Sunflower Lecithin in m*lk?

We have included it in m*lk as it’s a clean and good for us emulsifier (stops fat and water/liquid from separating). It also helps make m*lk super creamy and frothy when you heat it. Gives it a really nice body and thickness. Just trust us - it’s good!

Are the nuts Organic?

We wish we could use 100% organic, maybe we can get there one day.

Macadamias - Australian

Cashews - Organic

Almonds - Permaculture standards grown Pesticide Free

Is m*lk made in a Gluten Free & Dairy Free facility?

Yes, we don’t use dairy or gluten.

We are a small business, and make all products in our small shared facility.

We clean down in between making products and will only make one thing at a time to prevent cross contamination. Please keep in mind we use the same equipment so cross contamination may be possible.

We do use nuts in this facility - so unfortunately crum. is no longer guaranteed as nut free.

Is it Peanut Free?

Yes, we currently do not make any products containing peanuts.

Nut Allergens

We do use shared equipment for m*lk - and cannot guarantee zero nut cross contamination. Eg. You buy Almond because you are allergic to Cashews.

Is m*lk Vegan/Plant Based?

Naturally yes!
