crum. epitomises our belief in creating good, healthy food that tastes delicious and can be enjoyed by all.
With crum., you can not only cave in to those sugar-filled cravings but do so without compromising your health. Your children can also enjoy this nutritious alternative to that chocolatey crumb in a tin we all grew up with.
crum. was dreamt up by plant-based chef and mother, Heidi Briggs, after a fateful conversation with a friend discussing plant-based alternatives. Her goal was to reinvent nostalgic food experiences using healthy, inclusive ingredients. Heidi was extremely conscious about the choice of ingredients for crum. and each ingredient contains its own unique health benefits. The ingredients that make up crum. include:
Coconut Sugar: rich in healthy fats, electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals. Coconut sugar also contains inulin, a dietary fiber that helps maintain gut health.
Cacao Powder: a great source of polyphenols, known to reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure and improve cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Cacao is naturally high in several minerals including manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, and zinc.
Maple Syrup: contains up to 24 different antioxidants, beneficial for reducing free radical damage that can cause inflammation and contribute to the formation of various chronic diseases.
Carob Powder: naturally high in fiber and caffeine-free, it is great for people with high blood pressure. Carob powder contains high levels of vitamins, such as A and B-2, which are great for skin and eye health.
Mesquite: A high-protein with a high soluble fiber content allowing better digestion and healthy gut flora. It is also rich in iron, lysine, manganese, potassium, and zinc.
Maca: an excellent source of protein, fiber, and several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, copper, and iron.
Murray River Salt: high in magnesium, calcium, potassium, and iodine.
Vanilla: contains high levels of antioxidants, helping to protect your body’s cells against free radicals and toxins. Vanilla is also a potent anti-inflammatory substance due to its antioxidants.
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of nostalgia — especially when it comes from food. So why not give crum. a try and make those heartfelt memories. Enjoy it floating in cold milk, brewed in your favourite mug, sprinkled over ice cream, or spooned straight from the tin — the possibilities are endless.
